Every year the market has done a "market basket." This was a donation from every vendor that would be given to a person/ family in the community that had either come across hardship, or to recognize exceptional work done by a member in the community! With the current economic situation the Prior Lake Farmer's Market felt it would be more beneficial to sponsor a family for the entire year. This means that from May- October each week a family will receive a basket of foods and goods from the market... with vendor donations alone this will exceed a $200 value! We are excited about this endeavor, however, we also want to allow the Prior Lake community to get involved. So- as you are at the market we will be allowing/ encouraging anyone that feels moved to purchase items to add to the basket i.e a bundle of carrots... a bottle of root beer... a bar of soap, anything that a family could use! There is hardship in the world but we are working to brighten a families week and get the community involved!!! We appreciate your help and cooperation.
